New DAF XDC Truck Enters Service

We are pleased to announce that we have recently purchased four new DAF XDC 8×4 Tippers from Channel Commercials. The trucks, which are part of DAF’s ‘International Truck of the Year 2023’ range, will operate out of our Greenwich depot to serve London and its surrounding areas.

The new XDC model has a three-star DVS (Direct Vision Standard) rating, which will enable it to operate in London’s new DVS zones when they come into effect in October 2024. The new zones, which have been created to provide pedestrians, cyclists, and other vulnerable road users with additional protection, will cover the same area as the current LEZ-compliant areas. Heavy Goods Vehicles operating within these new zones will be required to have increased visibility, additional cameras and protection systems in place. Our new XDC models have these installed as standard, so we will not need to purchase additional equipment to remain compliant and operational.

Our new XDC tippers also come with a 6-year DAF-backed repair and maintenance package along with numerous other benefits, including improved comfort for our drivers, a sleek new design, robust steel bumpers, radiator protection and higher ground clearance.
