New Glass Export Facility Opens in Southampton

The new facility, located at King George V Dock, will receive up to 100,000 tonnes of locally sourced waste glass per year, which will be exported for re-manufacturing back into glass containers. The main export destinations will be Portugal and Holland, with smaller volumes destined for Italy and Greece.

The new facility, in conjunction with our existing sites at Greenwich and Ridham, will enable Day Group’s glass recycling division to export up to 250,000 tonnes of glass in 2023, cementing our position as the UK’s largest exporter of waste glass.
