As part of our ongoing commitment to control our environmental impact we recently commissioned Harvest Green Developments to install two solar rooftop (Photovoltaics) PV systems at our Avonmouth and Portslade depots.

The two systems comprise 434 x 425 wattage Trina solar panels, 217 P950 SolarEdge Power Optimisers, and two SolarEdge Inverters. Together, the systems are projected to generate 161,020 kWh per annum, saving 17.97 tonnes of CO2 per year at Avonmouth, the equivalent of planting 825 trees. At Portslade, it is estimated that 7.61 tonnes of CO2 will be saved per annum, which is comparable to planting 349 trees in the same period.

Furthermore, we conducted an extensive evaluation process and were impressed by the prospect of a Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) delivered by the Solar Panel Systems. As a result, with the two systems, we have fixed our costs at the depots for the next 20 years.

Finally, the system at Avonmouth is projected to reduce our exposure to volatile grid-supplied energy by 25% and 43% at Portslade, respectively.
