Day Aggregates supplied Thames Valley Construction Ltd with #EcoBlend® GA Type 1 and EcoBlend® GA 6F5 for a project at Avonmouth Dock.
The project entailed the construction of a 10000m2 Reinforced Concrete (RC) Slab for aggregate bays and hardstanding, including associated drainage, for the Bristol Port Company. The key benefits of using EcoBlend® GA products were:
- 25% saving in material cost compared to Primary aggregates
- 10% saving on density compared to natural aggregates
- 50% sustainable aggregate content
- Reduced use of quarried aggregate, helping to preserve our precious natural resources
EcoBlend® GA is a blend of natural quarried aggregate and Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate (IBAA). The material can be used for capping and sub-base and is fully compliant with National Highways Specifications.
