Quality Assurance

Our integrated management system is currently certified to ISO 9001:2015. The assessment and certification is performed by AFNOR UK Limited, a UKAS registered company.

The scope of registration includes the production of recycled aggregates and hydraulically bound mixtures, provision of haulage services and primary aggregates. Provision of services to the water treatment industry. Our bagged aggregate function is also within the scope. The introduction of our range of Cold Lay Asphalt (CLA) materials will see further expansion of the Company’s ISO 9001:2015 scope to include production of asphalt.

All Company locations are subject to regular internal audits as required by the ISO 9001:2015 standard. All of Day Group’s registered sites are Audited across a three-year surveillance cycle by AFNOR UK Limited as part of our ISO 9001:2015 certification.

The Company’s fleet of trucks and trailers is inspected and maintained in line with Operators licencing requirements. The Driver and Vehicle Standard Agency (DVSA) uses a scoring system to assess the risk posed by operators. Day Group’s Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) is Green 00, which is the best score that can be achieved. The first time MOT pass rate for the fleet of trucks and trailers is currently 100%. The drivers are assessed each year, or more regularly if required, by a RoSPA and SAFED accredited driving assessor. The compliance of the fleet is externally and independently audited by Backhouse Jones, a firm of specialist Transport Solicitors. The Transport function falls within the scope of the Company’s ISO 9001:2015 accreditation. Day Group’s Transport functions are also certified to ISO 39001:2012 road traffic safety management systems through BSI. This standard promotes improving safety and reducing risk for organisations that work with the road traffic system.

The Logistics Department, which performs the customer order and delivery processes, is also within the scope of the ISO 9001 quality management system accreditation.

Day Group has a designated management representative who is responsible for the Group’s Integrated Management System. The system is based on the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 39001:2012 and ISO 14001:2015.
